A Message From The PresidentHowdy! First let me say, I consider it a very special privilege and pleasure to serve as the 2008 president of the Fort Worth/Tarrant County A&M Club. I have virtually grown up in this club as my dad, Roy Santerre ’54, saw to it that we always attended Muster and every Coach’s Night. It is with this legacy that I look forward to meeting the challenge of helping the club evolve to meet the needs, attitudes and values of all generations of Aggies. The FW/TC A&M club is supported by an impressive executive board made up of talented individuals who volunteer their time and efforts to reach out to all aspects of our membership. They have been hard at work arranging great activities such as basketball game-watching parties, a football recruiting dinner and fun month happy hours. Other special events to look forward to include our most revered tradition, Aggie Muster; Aggies helping the community through Habitat for Humanity; and some baseball fun as the Aggies take on TCU and Aggie Night with the Texas Rangers in the spring. In the summer, we’ll be holding our eagerly awaited Coach’s Night and the accompanying silent auction the Club’s largest fundraiser of the year. We expect this years’ attendance to be close to a record crowd as we welcome Coach Sherman and several former players. Game-day tailgating at Kyle Field and the annual Cowtown Showdown and Chili Cook-off will provide even more opportunities for fun and camraderie in the fall. In addition, the club is working to arrange monthly luncheon speakers, provide Aggie networking forums and a host of other exciting events. Finally, our club will continue to provide scholarships to deserving Fort Worth and Tarrant County-area high school students attending Texas A&M. We ask you to join us in making a difference by helping to fund these scholarships through your club membership dues, attending fund raising events or by individually endowing a scholarship with The Association on the Club’s behalf. As always, it is a great year to be an Aggie. I look forward to meeting you throughout the year and hope that, if you are not a current member, you will choose to continue an Aggie tradition of supporting our Club by joining. Gig ’em!
