A Message from the President

Howdy! My name is Chewy Redding ’97 and I’m honored to serve in 2010 as the President for the Fort Worth/Tarrant County A&M Club. I first got involved with the Club when my wife and I moved to Fort Worth in 2006. It’s been very rewarding so far as I’ve made lots of Aggie friends and had a ton of fun doing so.

Assuming any leadership role takes a little time to get your feet under you and I feel we’re there. We’re moving to a new registration system for both Membership and Special Events which is ready to go by the time you’re reading this. It’ll make registration easier on your end and our end as well. I encourage you to become a member of the Club in 2010 as your dues help fund the 14 bright shiny faces we have on campus in College Station.

In addition to becoming a Member we hope to see you at our three biggest events of the year in Muster, Coach’s Night, and the Southwest Classic Weekend when we take on Arkansas in football. Muster as always will be held the 21st of April at Will Rogers Round Up Inn. Brooke Rollins ’94 will be our speaker. Coach’s Night is set for July 29th and we’re still finalizing plans so stay tuned to find out the final details. We’ll be playing golf the Friday before we play Arkansas and socializing before the game just like we did last year so come on out.

Don’t be shy to show up at other events if you feel a need for some Aggie camaraderie. Those events include Happy Hours, Game Watching Parties, Community Events, and Aggie Nights at various places. No matter where we are in life we’re all Aggies at heart and hold that special bond with each other. I’ve been involved in A&M Clubs in some way, shape, or form since graduating in May of 1998 and have shared some great moments with those people I’ve met through the A&M Clubs. I actually met my wife at an Aggie Happy Hour in Houston in the Summer of 2002.

If you’re not already I encouraged you to sign up to get our e-mail newsletters and even follow us on Facebook. They’re the best two ways to get timely information on what all we have going on. If you ever need anything, feel free to get in contact with me directly and I’ll be more than happy to answer your questions.

Here is to a great 2010 for all Aggies in Tarrant County!
