The Fort Worth Tarrant County A&M Club Lifetime Achievement Award has been created to acknowledge and celebrate the success, dedication, and contributions of not only one of its own, but also of Texas A&M University and all that it represents.
Purpose and Philosophy
The purpose of this is to recognize and honor Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club members who have made significant contributions in our community, and whose accomplishments, careers, and personal integrity have brought credit to Texas A&M University. This individual must also personify exceptional character and commitment to career and family, and the clear certainty of devotion to Texas A&M University.
This will do more than honor it will spotlight their achievements and thereby increase the public awareness of the many distinguished local A&M men and women.
In establishing this program, it shall be recognized that these awards are given for excellence of service in the community, the Fort Worth Tarrant County A&M Club, and Texas A&M University, and that no compromise diminishing the significance of the awards shall be made.
In making the final selection for an award under the program, the following criteria shall be used:
- Have attained local recognition or prominence through his or her efforts in business and/or community service.
- Be a person eminently successful, with a record of accomplishments which will be impressive to Fort Worth as well as Tarrant County.
- Have demonstrated interest in and support of the Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club and Texas A&M University.
- Be a person of high morale and character that exemplifies duty, honor, and country.
Eligibility:
- A person must be a member of the Fort Worth Tarrant County A&M Club.
- A deceased person may receive the posthumously. A person may be the recipient of the FW/TC A&M club Award only once.
Method of Selection
Nominations may be made for the FW/TC Lifetime Achievement Award by any of the following individuals or groups:
- Any member of the Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club
- Any member of The Association of Former Students
- The Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club, A&M Mothers, or Wives Club
- Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club board members
No limitation will be placed as the number of nominations to be submitted for consideration; however, only one nomination should be accepted for an individual nominee, and the name of the nominator shall not be disclosed to the selection committee. The selection committee will also reserve the right to consider nominations from previous years.
The standard nomination form must be used for the convenience of the selection committee. An anonymous committee of five persons will have final judgment in the selection of the recipient of the Fort Worth Tarrant County A&M Club:
The committee shall be appointed as follows:
- The President of the Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club
- The President of the Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club shall appoint one member from the membership at large.
- The President of the Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club shall appoint two members from the Clubs Officers and Board members one which shall be the President elect.
- The immediate Past President of the Fort Worth/ Tarrant County A&M Club shall be a member of the committee and will serve as the Chairperson.
This award is to be presented on an as need basis. If the committee feels that there is not a clear choice on candidates in that said year, and or the board is not in a financial position to present an award that year, the award can be deferred until the time is in agreement with the committee and or board.
Applications shall be taken and nominees considered from the beginning of the calendar year (Jan. 1) until the end of May and or at which time the committee has had enough time to make the proper considerations. The nominee shall then be notified of the award by the chairman of the award committee. This award should be presented sometime during the fall of that year.
